BWHA Partners with FIH

Brisbane Women’s Hockey Association (BWHA) has broadcasted a Division 1 game of the week since 2010 – through community TV, then National Digital TV and finally via Facebook and Livestream.

Saturday 13 March 2021 marks a new chapter in the evolution of women’s hockey coverage in Australia as BWHA begins a partnership with FIH to bring our local competition to the world via FIH’s Watch.Hockey app. https://watch.hockey/#home/NEWS_undefined

As recognition for their ongoing commitment to quality local hockey coverage, this week at 3pm Brisbane time (AEST), BWHA will deliver Australia’s inaugural coverage of their renamed Premier League 1 to the world through FIH’s Watch.Hockey app.

Easts and Norths will launch the first round of the 2021 season.  Star players Ruby Harris and Morgan Mathison (Easts) and Aleisha Neumann and Emily Burrows (Norths) will challenge for opening round bragging rights.  BWHAs’ Premier League 1 competition includes well-known players such as Angie Lambert, Morgan Gallagher, Jill Gohdes, Ashlyn McBurnie, Layla Eleison, Maddie James, Kedra Fitzpatrick, Claire Colwill, Jesse Reid, Britt Wilkinson and Emily Witheyman-Crump who you will see in action in coming weeks.

In 2020, an independent Shunt survey carried out over a 5 year period, found BWHA was the leading Australian hockey association for online media engagement, so it is not surprising BWHA is the first Australian association to bring their competition to a wider audience via FIH’s Watch.Hockey app.

BWHA – our power is our people!
